‘Family beanie’ is a very easy ribbed hat with 5 sizes from newborn to adult knitted with Gilliatt from De Rerum Natura.
As a breastfeeding mum, I was deeply touched when I saw a diaper made with a garbage bag on the news. I’ve been feeling so sad since then, and so I guessed I should try to help in the way that I can do best: by knitting. We arranged a fundraising during Dec 2023 and donated 1475,50€ to José Andrés and his World Central Kitchen.

Level: beginner.
You need to know how to: cast on and cast off, knit in the round, knit and purl, simple decreases.
Sizes:
1 (2, 3, 4, 5)
size 1: newborn
size 2: baby 1-2 yo
size 3: boy/girl 3-7 yo
size 4: teenager
size 5: adult
Measurements (head circumference):
36 (42, 48, 54, 60) cm
Materials:
De rerum natura Gilliatt (100 gr, 250 m), shown in colors: poivre et sel, darjeeling
65 (90, 115, 140, 160) m
Gauge: 10 sts (blocked and tightened) or 12 sts (resting) x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm
Recommended needle size:
4,5 mm circular needles with 80 cm cable for magic loop, or 40 cm cable for the smaller size
Notions: scissors, stitch markers, tapestry needle
